We care about the world we live in. We think it’s a beautiful place and we’ll do our best to keep it that way.
Sourcing our produce
We source our produce as locally as possible. This sometimes limits our range but we think it’s important to offer a range of produce that is sustainable and traceable. We do not buy or sell any produce that is airfreighted. We are licensed by the Soil Association and only buy from growers that are certified organic. We want Wholegood customers to enjoy our products knowing they’ve been sustainably produced and responsibly transported.
Around 50% of the energy consumed by Wholegood is produced by solar power from panels on our warehouse roof. We have solar panels covering an area of 25,000 square foot generating electricity and returning surplus energy to the national grid. The other 50% of our energy is sourced in the UK from Hydo power, wind farms and solar sourced from a small broker dedicated to renewables.
Packaging and waste
Most of our packing is recyclable and/or compostable (the net we use is currently not recyclable). We recycle all paper, cardboard and plastic. Any waste produce is collected for composting. This means very little is sent to landfill. Grundon sort through our general waste to ensure that everything that can be recycled (by them) is recycled, ie wood, concrete, soils.
